Explore Phoenicia, NY
Phoenicia, NY is a quintessential rural town and is nestled in the gateway of the beautiful Catskill Forest Preserve. A nature lovers' paradise with hundreds of miles of hiking trails and world-class fly fishing in the Esopus Creek.
Take a drive through the beautiful Woodland Valley or Peekamoose Road and you’ll see about five incredible waterfalls, the Blue Hole swimming spot, and lush vegetation (which feels kinda like a rain forest).
Take a two-hour tour and experience Rail Explorers, think pedal-powered go-carts that ride the rails along the Esopus River and through the woods of the Catskill Mountains — so much fun and great for young and old alike.
Have lunch in town, rent an inner tube, and float on the river. Phonecia will remind you how to be a child again!
A few of my favorite places to eat…
The Phoenicia Diner is a very cool old fashioned diner with good local food, an interesting menu, and an outdoor food truck. Go early as it has become quite the hot spot for both locals and tourists.
Wood-fired pizza? Yes, please! Brios on Main Street is a place that should not be missed. Excellent food, outdoor seating, and a good spot to people watch.
Right next door to Westwind Orchard is Arrowood Farms — a sustainable farm brewery, distillery, dining, and event destination. You’ll find delicious food, live music, craft beer and spirits, and so much more (including food trucks on select weekends.)
